Man Dies During Robbery After Jumping Off A Bridge in Phoenix, KZN
Phoenix, KZN – A man tragically lost his life this morning after jumping off a bridge in an attempt to escape two robbers in Phoenix, KwaZulu-Natal.
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived at the scene and found the unidentified victim deceased on a railway line below the bridge. Reports indicate that he had been robbed of his shoes and other valuables.
Eyewitness Accounts
According to witnesses, the victim was on his way to seek employment when he was accosted by two suspects. In a desperate bid to escape, he managed to break free and leapt off the bridge, landing on the railway tracks below.
Railway workers discovered the critically injured man at approximately 07:30 AM and spoke with him. He revealed that despite being severely injured from the fall, the robbers had still managed to steal his belongings, leaving him defenseless.
